To Strengthen Peace, Stability

Monrovia, Liberia – Sweden’s Permanent Representative to the UN, H.E. Ms. Nicola Clase, Chair of the Peacebuilding Commission’s (PBC) Configuration on Liberia, is scheduled to visit Monrovia for the first time on November 21–26, 2024.

Ms. Awa Dabo, Director and Deputy Head of the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs’ Peacebuilding Support Office, will accompany Madam Clase.

The PBC mission chair in Liberia will talk about the country’s top peacebuilding goals, how to maintain recent gains, and new issues.

The visit’s main goal will be to build on the results of the August 19, 2024, PBC Liberia Configuration conference, which highlighted Liberia’s goals in transitional justice as well as the agendas for youth, peace, and security.

Madam Clase’s visit will include meetings with partners, stakeholders, and leaders at the national and regional levels to discuss ways to increase support and technical assistance.

The goal of the discussions is to support the government of Liberia in implementing important reforms and bolstering the nation’s peacebuilding initiatives.
