The Liberian leader also emphasized how education can change lives, especially for young people. In order to provide themselves the skills necessary to make significant contributions to their communities and the country as a whole, he urged young people to place a high priority on their education.
“Our youth hold the future of Liberia in their hands, so it is imperative that we invest in their education, guide them with wisdom, and inspire them to become agents of positive change,” President Boakai said, emphasizing that education is a strong weapon for development.
As a sign of support and encouragement for the growth of grassroots sports, President Boakai gave cash awards to the top four teams in the event, which featured intense rivalry among local teams.
The First Lady of Liberia, Madam Katumu Boakai, and Minister of State Without Portfolio, Mamaka Bility, were among the dignitaries that accompanied the president.
