Pres. Boakai Receives Letter Of Credence from New US Ambassador to Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – The newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America, Mark Christopher Toner, has presented a letter of credence to President Joseph N. Boakai designating him as the new ambassador to Liberia.

President Boakai acknowledged the strong historical and working relationship between Liberia and the United States, stressing the significance of their ongoing collaboration for development and stability, upon receiving the letter of credence from the US Ambassador on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Executive Mansion on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

In order to promote economic progress and strengthen regional security, the Liberia Leader reassured Ambassador Toner of his country’s dedication to cooperating with the United States.

In his own statement, the recently appointed US Ambassador to Liberia promised to strive toward fortifying the two nations’ bilateral relationships and advancing trade.

He used the occasion to reiterate US commitment to fostering cooperation with Liberia.

The appointment of Amb. Toner as an Ambassador to Liberia means he has succeeded Michael A. McCarthy, who served from January 2021 to August 2023.
