President George Manneh Weah expressed his profound congratulations on behalf of the Liberian government and people as well as in his own name in a message to His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey. The Liberian president also praised Turkiye for its courageous attitude and contribution to the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.
“Mr. President, the prominent role you are playing has led to Ukraine shipping vital grains, which has tremendously averted food scarcity in the world,” President Weah told his Turkish counterpart.
President George Manneh Weah further expressed confidence that as the people of Turkiye commemorate this great day amidst the global and economic challenges as well as the prevailing war in Ukraine, the strong bonds of friendship subsisting between Liberia and Turkiye, will continue to be enhanced, and expanded to include new areas of interest in mining, trade, and commerce as well as other key sectors.
