Pledges to expand bilateral ties with India

On the occasion of the Republic of India’s 75th anniversary of independence, which will be celebrated on August 15, 2022, President George Manneh Weah offered greetings to the nation’s leaders and citizens.

According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, the Liberian President sent a message to H.E. Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, in which he expressed the government and people of Liberia’s heartfelt congratulations and sincere best wishes to India’s government and people as they celebrated this joyous and historic occasion.

President George Weah expressed his deep satisfaction at the strengthened bilateral ties between Liberia and India as the Indian people celebrated this historic occasion. He also said that his government looked forward to the expansion of the already excellent bilateral cooperation between Liberia and India for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

President Weah further expressed hope that the two countries will work together in furtherance of peace, security, and global economic development within the context of the sustainable development goals.

The Liberia leader then prayed for the personal well-being of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also prayed that the Almighty God showers the Indian Prime Minister with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads the people of India to higher heights.
