Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has removed Madam Carmerna Cephas Yeke from her position as Deputy Director General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) with immediate effect because of her egregious disrespect for the Office of the President, according to the Executive Mansion.
A release signed by presidential press secretary Kula Bonah Nyei Fofana said, Madam Yeke has been removed from her position immediately due to her disregard for the high norms of behavior required of a public servant.
The release added that, the Liberian leader expressed appreciation for her service to the corporation but noted that he cannot tolerate any behavior that goes against the best interests of the country. The President reassures the public that the choice was made with the highest confidence and in the corporation’s best interest.
Furthermore, President Boakai reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the values of accountability and honesty in all facets of government and his will to see to it that public employees behave in accordance with the highest standards.
Despite being a tenure-track institution, this government agency has also been impacted by the new administration. The Supreme Court has currently put a hold on three government institutions due to tenure disruption by the Boakai-Koung government.
