Monrovia, Liberia – Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet and well-known entrepreneur, met strategically with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. The high-level meeting, which took place virtually, gave Mr. Musk a chance to thank President Boakai for the engagement and to commend the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He specifically recognized the efforts of Minister Sara Beyslow-Nyanti and her team for their excellent facilitation and coordination.
President Boakai emphasized the value of this kind of interaction, according to the Executive Mansion, pointing out that it offers a chance for relationship-building and long-term mutually beneficial results.
The President also underlined the importance of technology to Liberia’s younger generation and other important areas, emphasizing the necessity for cooperation and support in the country’s service delivery sectors.
Throughout the conversation, Mr. Musk underlined the importance of the Starlink program a satellite internet network that covers 80 countries and is run by Starlink Services, LLC and expressed his support for furthering healthcare and education-related efforts.
He emphasized how internet connectivity may empower rural areas and advance important industries.
President Boakai expressed sincere hope that the meeting with Mr. Musk outside of Liberia’s 177th anniversary will be a gift to the country, highlighting a dedication to building a strong and long-lasting partnership.
In addition, the Liberian leader reiterated his government’s commitment to ongoing engagement and cooperation by extending an open invitation to Mr. Musk and his team to visit Liberia.
The conversation between Mr. Musk and President Boakai highlights a critical juncture in expanding global collaborations and harnessing technological advancements for the benefit of Liberia and its people. An essential part of the government’s ARREST (Agriculture Roads Rule of Law Education Sanitation & Tourism) program is this effort.
