Sinkor, Monrovia – The National Elections Commission (NEC) notifies the public that ballot papers for the presidential runoff election on November 14, 2023, have arrived in Liberia in accordance with the Commission’s operating plan.
On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, a chartered Ethiopian cargo flight via Roberts International Airport brought the three million three hundred twenty thousand five hundred (3, 320,500) ballot papers into the nation from the Republic of Ghana. The ballots were packaged separately from other election-related documents such as mock ballots, Record of the Count Forms, and Tactile Ballot Guides, according to the NEC.
The NEC reports that the ballots are currently in secured storage under the protection of state securities. Deployment of ballot papers and other sensitive and non-sensitive election materials to the 19 magisterial offices in the 15 counties for onward distribution to the 2,080 voting precincts nationwide will commence in the next few days.
