NEC Liberia Chairperson Madam Browne Lansanah elected as the First Vice President ECONEC
The National Elections Commission of Liberia Chairperson, Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah has unanimously been elected as the First Vice President of ECOWAS Network of Electoral Commissions, (ECONEC), at the ongoing 7th Biennial General Assembly in the Ghanaian capital, Accra.
A Press Statement from the electoral body stated that NEC Chairperson Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah was elected by Chairpersons of Elections Management Bodies in the West Africa Sub-region in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
The statement added that Madam Browne Lansanah, who takes over from Burkina Faso Election Head, will serve as Frist Vice President of ECONEC for a two-year term at that higher body as the head.
Madam Browne Lansanah has announced her ability to control electoral matters and processes when she lead the 2020 special senatorial By-elections in Liberia where, 98 percent of the sitting government lost to the opposition, including the just-ended 2021 representative by-elections in four counties.
