Monrovia, Liberia – Senator Amara Konneh of Gbapolu County has voiced his dislike of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s Unity Party administration. The senator claims that even if macroeconomic stability has increased since the elections, the first year of the Boakai Administration has been characterized by many difficulties, errors, and lost chances.
Drug usage has grown, high unemployment has increased, electrical problems have persisted, and no significant new investment has been made. Working in the legislature is frustrating since it is an uninteresting, chaotic institution that essentially serves as an extension of the executive branch.
Senator Konneh on his official Facebook page pointed out that anti-incumbent politicians are becoming more popular in elections throughout the globe, that the geopolitical influence of the US, China, and Russia cannot be denied, and that global economic trends are becoming more unpredictable.
Sierra Leone’s political system has grown particularly poisonous. This year, Cote d’Ivoire will have elections, and Guinea continues to face security challenges. I understand that supporters of the government want to justify everything, including mistakes, but the first step in overcoming obstacles is admitting they exist.
“Government is like football,” he said. You miss occasionally and score other times. What matters most is what you do after you’ve missed it. What course will Liberia follow in 2025 as we look back on 2024? Does President Boakai require a different strategy?
