Monrovia, Liberia – Senator Abraham Darius Dillon of Montserrado County has urged the public, prominent figures, and interested parties to offer possibilities and assistance to those who are struggling with addiction in the nation.
The lawmaker emphasized the value of supporting young people impacted by drug abuse during his speech at the third graduation exercise of 17 individuals who have undergone detoxification and rehabilitation procedures sponsored by his Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration over the weekend in the Rehab Community.
Senator Dillon, a strong supporter of rehabilitating disadvantaged youths, emphasized that the public’s responsibility extended beyond merely helping these people get back on track and reintegrate into society.
He asked the now-formed young people’s parents, relatives, friends, and other associates to constantly watch over their whereabouts, offer advice, and provide the required financial, technical, moral, and religious assistance in order to give them a better future and benefit society as a whole.
Along with praising the graduates for their bravery and dedication in conquering their obstacles, the law-maker urged society to accept them with compassion and understanding.
The Montserrado County Senator made a disclosure of the two prior graduation exercises, stating that none of the clients who were graduating had relapsed. The senator also noted that CFRR follows up with its graduates to make sure they do not relapse.
Senate Pro-Tempore Nyonblee-Karngar Lawrence spoke at the program and reiterated the severity of the drug problem in the nation, emphasizing that Senator Dillon and other persons are making sacrifices for the future generation of leaders.
