Receives School Materials From Cyrtarus Initiative

Monrovia, Liberia – A non governmental organization, Cyrtarus Initiative, with support from the National Port Authority (NPA) has donation over 2,000 school materials to kinds in three countries in Liberia as the 2024-2025 academic year begin.

The school supplies donated from September 2–5, 2024 include book bags, pencils, pens, copybooks, sharpener and erasers valued more than US$53,000. Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbarpolu Counties are among the nations who profited from the kind acts of the Cyrtarus Initiative and NPA.

During the donation exercise In Grand Cape Mount Country, over twelve schools benefited from the donation exercise, while in Bomi County over ten schools benefited and Gbarpolu over nine schools received gifts from the Cyrtarus Initiative.

Some of the schools include, Gbah Foboli Public school, Jebbeh Kiazolu Elementary, Junior school, Tombey Public school, Latia Public Elementary and Junior High school , Sembehun Public school, Sinje Public school, Samuel D. Hill Public school, Free Pentecostal Global Mission and Bomi Junior High.

They comprise H.Q. Taylor, John L. Parvola Public School, Guide Town Public School, Gertrude Yancy Elementary and Junior High Public School, Karnley Town Public, Beh Yomo Public School, Jenneh Public School, Alieu Swaray Arabic and English Public School, Bassa Camp Public School.

Speaking with media at the donation, Cytarus Initiative CEO Madam Cytarus G. Dahn said the donation is a part of the Government-launched “Go back to School” campaign. She claims that there is a strategy in place to make sure the fifteen counties’ worth of school donations help the pupils.

According to Madam Dahn, the school supplies also show how committed President Joseph N. Boakai is to make sure every child returns to learn for a better Liberia. “The President of the Republic of Liberia cares for you. He has sent us to bring to you books, book Bags, pencil and eraser amongst others. The President and many of us find it very difficult to get basic  materials to go to school so he cares about you and he wants you  to always be in School.”

Madam Dahn also encouraged the beneficiary (students)  to focus on their education so that they can be able to educate their unborn children in the future and to ensure that Liberia be a better place. “When we had conversations with the president, he told us there were time he never had books and book-bags to go to school. Due to that, he (President Boakai) has sent us with these gifts to ensure all of you are in school. The President love and want you to be educated because tomorrow you can be President too, you can be Minister.”

For their part, Joseph K. Smeth, the Principal of CH Deweh Junior and Central High School in Bomi County, expressed thanks for the wonderful gesture from the President and Cytarus initiative. Speaking also, Suehn- Mecca District Bomi County’s Bassa Camp Public School’s principal praised the President of the Republic of Liberia via the Cytarus project for the timely act.

“We are very happy and appreciative of this unique and timely gift from the President because there are many parents who were thinking and straggling to get school materials. Since school resumed, so many students have been bringing plastic bags to school.”

During the distribution, students were  emotional and  full with joy, why parents has smile on there faces at the various schools.
