The president of Mighty Rangers FC is calling on the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Youth and sports to fully support grassroots football in the country.

According to Anmer King for the game of soccer to improve in the country, there is a need for the government to pay serious attention to grassroots football.

King lamented that the massive defeats Liberians are experiencing derived from the lack of financial support for grassroots football and other federations in the country.

He maintained that when grassroots football is fully supported, the sporting sectors will definitely improve and Liberians will get the necessary results.

The grassroots football president expressed that countries that are making significant progress in major competitions in the world are fully supported by governments from grassroots to national levels.

The youthful football Club president narrated that  Liberia as a country does not lack quality players but instead, they lacked financial support and motivation from National leaders, noting there are lots of talented players in all of the sporting sectors in the country.

He mentioned that if the sectors remain static Liberians will continue to experience underrepresentation in the Athletics.

“It is time for the government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports invest in the sector for the improvement of the National teams of Liberia,” he narrated.

For his part, the Head coach of  Mighty Rangers FC Prince Ngopoe expressed Joy over the performances of his team in recent time, at the same time anticipated his team’s participation in the  Liberia Football Association (LFA) Under 17, National League.

According to Ngopoe, team managers in the country are faced with lots of financial challenges as such, players and team officials are disappointed in the beautiful game. He used the occasion to caution officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to treat every sporting federation in the country the same in terms of financial support.
