Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberian Supreme Court has lifted the Bar Association’s suspension of Cllr. Ndubuisi Nwabudike, the former Chair of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), allowing him to resume his legal practice anywhere in the country.
The court declared in its ruling that the previous head of the LACC would now have full legal status.
It is recalleded that in August 2021, the Supreme Court overturned the Liberia National Bar Association’s suspension of Councilor Nwabudike due to allegations that he is not a citizen of Liberia, disqualifying him from leading the LACC and practicing law throughout the nation.
In addition, the high court directed the Ministry of Justice to take charge of the case and look into Cllr. Nwabudike’s citizenship status.
After convening, the Supreme Court considered the petitioner’s request to be allowed to resume practicing law in the area.
