The 2022 Amputee National Soccer League officially kicked off on Monday at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville. The opening between LASA FC and SURVIVAL FC ended in a 2-2 draw.
Jerome Tokpah give LASA FC a 1-0 lead before the end of halftime, but Survival FC captain, Prince Wymah equalized from the spot-kick in the first five minutes of the second half.
A few minutes later, Delvin Jusu put Survival FC ahead by 2-1following several missed chances from LASA FC hitman Emmanuel Providence.
Survival FC was heading for the first win in their opening match, but Captain Prince Wymah was shown a straight red card by the central referee, Victor Benson due to a challenge on Jerome Tokpah with just eight minutes left to play.
LASA FC hitman Emmanuel Providence capitalize on the one-man advantage as he scored from the center cycle of the pitch in added-on time to end the match at 2-2 in full minutes of play.
According to the technical team of the Liberia Amputees Football and Sports Association, the best players will be selected at the end of the league to begin preparation for the country’s participation in the upcoming Amputees World Cup in Turkey.
