The anticipated distance is 440 kilometers, and Tanzania now has the longest electrified railway system in Africa, ranking sixth.

With 15% of its railway network electrified, the nation is ranked second in Africa for the proportion of electrified railways overall. The estimated cost of the 440-kilometer railway system was USD 3.1 billion.

With the train’s top speed of 160 km/h, the trip time between the two cities has been reduced from 10 to 4 hours.
