Monrovia, Liberia – Othello B. Gablah, the managing editor of the New Dawn Newspaper and president of the Publishers Association of Liberia, testified in open court during the current US $100M Cocaine case that TRH Trading Corporation ought to have been a key suspect.
According to Gablah, any time a contraband material or any illicit substance is discovered on the person, in their belongings, or in their suitcase, they should be handled as suspects.
He added that he feels that under prudent jurisdiction, TRH will be treated as a suspect in the investigation and resolution of the case because of the time that passed between when he was regarded as a whistleblower or victim while chemicals were still being rounded up.
According to Gablah, criminals would always try to take advantage of any weak systems. In this case, the LRA has acknowledged that TRH had been granted special privileges that allowed them to clear their goods or container consignments using nothing more than bills of lading. Any criminal with knowledge of such a system might thus take use of it.
The Global Marathon Tracking Solution gave the Liberian government advance notice to inspect the containers that were carrying the US $100 million worth of cocaine, but the government disregarded this notification and went ahead to clear the containers without checking it, according to Mr. Gablah’s testimony in open court.
He said that the Global Marathon Tracking Solution provides information on the origin of a specific package, even going so far as to notify you.
As a result, they published such a notice on September 22, 2022, making it very apparent that this specific shipment should be subject to physical scrutiny.
“Our argument in this editorial is that such warning was given as has been done on shipment of containers,” the author stated. Why did the appropriate authority disregard such a notice or instruction?
