The Political Leader of the All Liberian Party (ALP) Mr. Benoni Wilfred Urey, has challenged the people of Lofa not to allow the presidency to slip off their hands, noting that this is the time for Lofa to produce a president starting with the upcoming by-election on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in the county.
Mr. Urey said he has observed and it has been beyond all reasonable doubt that the next president of Liberia will come from Lofa therefore, the people of Lofa County should do all it takes in their capacity to win the presidency in 2023.
The ALP leader made the remark over the weekend when Unity Party (UP) Standard Bearer and former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai broke ground for the construction of a palava hut in Kendobengu, Foya.
“Do not allow the presidency slip off your hands because this is the time for Lofa to produce their own president. However, this is something that has to start with the upcoming by-election on Tuesday, June 28, in the county. I want to assure you all that we are behind your son, uncle, brother, and father until he achieves this and nobody can stop this. We will make sure that he is elected president of Liberia before we stop and we are here to guide him” Mr. Urey remarked
According to him, the ALP is behind Amb. Boakai in every endeavor and his party will make sure that all Mr. Boakai’s quests are achievable to liberate Liberians from the economic backwardness the country is currently faced with.
For his part, former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai during the town hall meeting with several citizens thanked the huge crowd for the warmest welcome and reminded them that there is time for everything a statement he align to the 2023 elections.
He further used the occasion to encourage his supporters to vote for the UP candidate Mr. Galakpai Kortimai, who he said, is the choice of the party.
Meanwhile, in brief remarks, Montserrado County District#10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah, called on the citizens of Lofa county not to allow his colleague Representative Thomas Fallah of District#5 Montserrado County, to mislead them with what he termed as illegal monies.
The ANC Lawmaker told the people of Kendobengu in Foya, that the CDC Lawmaker is a foreigner, saying it will be a mistake to allow a foreigner from Guinea like Representative Thomas Fallah to control the people of Lofa, telling them who to vote for. Mr. Kolubah added that he is committed to every campaign which will make the CDC-led government unpopular and make President Weah a one-term President.
” We are here to prove to the world that Lofa County is for the Lofa people. We are saying this to say there is one man passing around calling himself Thomas Fallah claiming to be from Lofa. If you will agree that he is from Lofa no problem but let him show us any of his friends that the both of them grow up together in the village he claimed he is from. If he does that, I will resign as Representative of District #10 and I will not contest” he said.
