Monrovia, Liberia – The United States Agency for International Development announces a US$1.5 million award for 18 organizations, claiming that it will increase people’s capacity to promote policy improvements in education, health, and local government.

Through it, civil society organizations in six counties, including Montserrado, Nimba, Lofa, Margibi, Bong, and Grand Bassa, will be able to push for improvements in the health and education sectors.

To give CSOs the chance to connect with their peers and constituencies at the national and sub-national levels, each organization will receive USD$75,000.

Joel Maybury, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Liberia, noted that CSO provides vital services, keeps the public informed, and holds the government responsible.
