Monrovia, Liberia โ In an effort to shed light on the confusing revenue and expenditure figures at the Port of Monrovia, members of the House of Representatives have extended an invitation to Sekou Hussein Dukuly, the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), to appear before the Plenary on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
The decision was made on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, during the 16th Day Sitting of the 2nd Quarter of the first session, based on a communication from Rep. Frank Saah Foko of Electoral District #9 Montserrado County.
According to the Press and Public Affairs of the House of Representative, Hon. Foko communication stated that NPA Boss Dukuly provided contradictory explanations for the nearly $14 million in revenue that was earned in just five months under his leadership and for the $2 million that was contributed to the 2024 National Budget.
Additionally, Rep. Foko asked his colleagues to extend an invitation to Mr. Dukuly so he could elaborate on his claim that the NPA Management, under the administration of former President George M. Weah, provided US$4 million.
After the instrument was read aloud and discussed on the floor, Rep. Clarence Gahr of Electoral District #5, Magibi County, made a resolution that was approved, requesting that the NPA Boss appear before the entire House of Representatives on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
