1,305 Students Benefit from Ministry of Labor Vacation Job Scheme.

Monrovia, Liberia – The annual Vacation Job Scheme, which is intended to give young people temporary work opportunities over the school break, has benefited 1,305 young people, according to the Ministry of Labor.

During the Ministry of Information’s weekly press briefing on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Monrovia, Labor Minister Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr., revealed the information. According to him, the program is a component of the government’s continuous endeavor to give students practical work experience while allowing them to receive stipends to help pay for their education.

The program allocated students to help with administrative, clerical, and field-related activities in a variety of government and private sector organizations, Minister Kruah said. The Minister stressed that the program is about more than temporary employment. “It is about providing our youth with the opportunity to learn about the working world, develop their abilities, and gain self-assurance as they get ready for their future employment.”

The Ministry of Labor has received praise from parents and recipients for continuing the program in spite of financial difficulties. Many claim that it relieves some of the students’ financial burdens and offers them meaningful participation during the break. In order to guarantee that more young Liberians take advantage of the opportunity, the Ministry of Labor stated its intention to grow the program throughout the years to come.
