17 Liberian Nurses Depart for Specialized Training in Kenya

Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Health has bid farewell to another cohort of seventeen (17) Liberian nurses who departed today for a two-year specialized training program at the Kenyatta National Hospital School of Nursing in Nairobi, Kenya.

The training program is sponsored by the Ministry of Health through the World Bank funded Institutional Foundations to Improve Services for Health (IFISH) Project and the Health Security Project (HeSP).

The seventeen nurses will pursue additional education in essential health fields such as Oncology Nursing, Trauma and Emergency Nursing, essential Care Nursing, Neonatal Nursing, and Nephrology Nursing. They were chosen from public health facilities throughout the nation.

In order to further support the Ministry’s continuous efforts to guarantee that all Liberians have access to high-quality and resilient healthcare, the nurses are anticipated to return home after completing their studies and help improve specialized healthcare services.
