Todee District, Rural Montserrado – According to a report from rural Montserrado, a 62-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in the Todee District. According to police report, the event happened on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Holder Farm neighborhood in the Nyhen Clan Todee Statutory District.

According to the Victim, she and her friends were going to the Hand pump for water when suspect John Gbali 62 asked them to enter his house something they refused. She narrated that before suspect John committed the act, she along with three other friends had gone to the home of one Ezekiel who is a resident of the community for food.

She said while looking for food, Ezekiel in question promised to give them coconut to eat. The victim added that while en route to the hand pump which is being erected around the house of Mr Gbali, it was at that time Gbali started to run after them.

She explained that 62-year-old John succeeded in getting her when her friend escape and took her to his porch and allegedly rape her using his penis.

When questioned, the suspect John disputed the claims and said they were an intentional attempt to discredit him. According to Mr. Gbali, he only saw the two kids as he was heading back to get his short-gallon container, which he had left back in the neighboring bush on the road leading to the hand pump.

Upon his return, he bemoaned that when he went to buy garri, all he heard was his friend informing him that one of the females had claimed that they had been raped by him, which is false and deceptive. He further clarified that contrary to what was implied in public, he never took the victim to his room or porch to interact with her.

According to Mr. Gbali, he has been residing in Holder Farm since October 2022 and relies solely on mining operations.

The suspect is currently at the Nyhen police Depot in Todee District awaiting to be transferred to the Carlsberg police station at the Women and Children session while the victim was taken to the James Davis Hospital for check.
