Aggrieved Workers of Mano Palm Oil Plantation in Bomi County stage Peaceful protest

Bomi County – Employees at the Mano Palm Oil Plantation in Bomi County staged a peaceful protest, calling on the plantation to settle its debt to them for 50 months in full.

The workers, many of whom work as plantation laborers and harvesters, claimed they were exposed to unfavorable working conditions, low pay, and long hours work.

The demonstrators erected barricaded the company’s entrances, claiming the business owes them compensation arrears of up to fifty months as well as other benefits.

The irate laborers expressed their frustration at being treated like slaves on their own property. They pointed out that they should be paid more for their labor because they work nonstop, frequently without breaks or adequate meals.

Workers and sympathizers gathered in significant numbers for the demonstration, which was held outside the administrative office of the Mano Palm Oil Plantation. They carried signs with catchphrases showing their dissatisfaction.

The company has however stated that it will investigate the workers’ grievances and take appropriate actions.
