The Captain of the Amputees Lone Star team is appealing to the government of Liberia and humanitarian organizations for better living conditions.
Prince Wymah has voiced an appeal to the Liberian Government to build housing units and a mini sports stadium for the players of the amputees national team like it is done in other countries.
Prince who Captain the amputees Lone Star team to 3rd and 2nd places in Angola and Tanzania in 2019 and 2021 Amputees African Nations Cup also plead with the government to create opportunities for them to attend a vocational training school.
He said though the government of Liberia has been helping in honoring their international tournaments, improving the livelihood of the players and their families is one of the major concerns of all players of the team.
He spoke on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the end of their first practice session held at the Invincible Sports Park in Monrovia.
According to him, life is becoming very difficult for them especially living in rental houses, something he said is creating total embarrassment for them.
” We are going through lots of challenges which I want for the government and humanitarian organizations to make a swift intervention. We even want for our children to have scholarship benefits to enable them to become better in the society”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Amputees Lone Star team started regular practice on 16 May ahead of Turkey 2022 Amputees World Cup.
