APM Terminals Donates New IT Equipment to NPA To Support Digital Automation Initiative.

Monrovia, Liberia – APM Terminals has made an innovative donation of various IT equipment to the management of the National Port Authority (NPA) in order to support the NPA’s Digital Automation Initiative. This will help the port better monitor operational activities at different concession areas through digital screening.

Thirty laptops, eight flat-screen TVs, thirty keyboards, fifteen radios, and thirty monitors are among the more than 112 pieces of equipment.

Speaking during the presentation, the Managing Director of APM Terminals, Clay Cran, underscored his company’s unwavering commitment to the partnership with the NPA.

According to him, the presentation is a testament to APM Terminals’ continued support for the port transformative agenda; stating that APM Terminals remain dedicated to fostering innovation and operational excellence. He revealed that the gift was not the first of its sort and that APM Terminals had donated to other organizations in the past and will continue to do so.

Receiving the equipment, the Managing Director of the Port, Sékou Dukuly said the donation was achieved through serious managerial discussions and patriotic negotiations on behalf of the Government of Liberia.

At the same time, Director Dukuly underlined the importance of these kinds of partnerships in accomplishing the NPA’s strategic goals and demanded even more collaboration. As a director, he said he looks forward to developing a stronger and more mutually beneficial connection with APM Terminals, and he says the support shows the possibilities of effective collaborations.

“Today, the Management of APM Terminals, for the first time in almost 14 years of concession operations at the Freeport of Monrovia, handed over 112 digital (IT) equipment,” he explained, “is a great accomplishment at the NPA under my managerial watch.”

However, Dukuly expressed profound gratitude to APM Terminals for their invaluable contribution. It is anticipated that the donated equipment would greatly improve the NPA’s digitalization efforts by simplifying APM Terminal operations through a digital link with the port.
