Monrovia, Liberia – The 2024 holiday season was celebrated by ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) with a number of lively and memorable activities that made people smile and spread joy throughout its concession territories and beyond.
The week-long events, which took place in the counties of Montserrado, Bong, Nimba, and Grand Bassa, highlighted the company’s dedication to social responsibility and community involvement by fusing festive festivities with deeds of kindness.
A lavish children’s party and the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree marked the start of the celebrations in Buchanan on Monday. AML’s Christmas celebrations began with a colorful event that brought together community members, employees, and children.
Beyond the festivities, AML touched many lives throughout the holiday season by demonstrating its generosity by making kind gifts to a number of orphanages, elderly care facilities, government agencies, and local communities throughout the concession territories.
Michiel Van Der Merwe, the CEO of AML, and Anthony Kocken, the Chief Operating Officer, took center stage on Tuesday to spread holiday pleasure in Yekepa. They made enduring experiences for the young recipients by distributing Christmas gifts to kids in Camp 4 and the nearby regions alongside other staff members.
The lighting of the Yekepa concession Christmas tree, which represents optimism and solidarity throughout the season, added even more illumination to the evening. The culmination of Yekepa festivities was a lavish Christmas party held at the Yekepa playground on Saturday, December 28.
The event brought hundreds of children who participated in numerous entertaining activities, tasty refreshments, and got gifts. Families and communities joined together to celebrate the season, creating an environment of pure pleasure and unity.
AML employees celebrated at a year-end party in Monrovia on Friday. Christopher Williams was honored as “Employee of the Year” during the event, which demonstrated the company’s gratitude for its dedicated staff. Williams, an example to his coworkers, received recognition for his exceptional commitment and efforts during 2024.
The festivities demonstrate AML’s steadfast dedication to its communities and corporate social responsibility. The company showed its position as a responsible and caring partner to the public by making gifts to institutions and groups that are disadvantaged.
ArcelorMittal Liberia promised that it will continue to make a positive impact, extending its warmest season’s greetings and a happy new year to all Liberians and reaffirming its dedication to fostering joy, unity, and development in the communities it serves. AML’s holiday season is not yet over, as the company has announced plans for additional activities in Buchanan and Yekepa this week.
