Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai immediately dismissed Mr. Prince S. Bonnah, Deputy Managing Director for Administration, and Mr. Alex Railey, Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services, from the National Housing Authority (NHA) upon the discovery of financial misconduct.
President Boakai stressed that all public servants are expected to observe the utmost standards of honesty, openness, and accountability and stated that his Administration will not accept financial indiscipline or the misappropriation of public resources.
The Liberian government’s attempts to establish good governance and a zero-tolerance policy for financial misconduct in public institutions were also highlighted by the president. The Liberian Leader assured the public that required administrative actions will be taken to ensure continuity of operations at the National Housing Authority in conformity with current laws and regulations.
The dismissals are in accordance with Board Resolution No. NHA-2025-001 and the conclusions of an Investigation Committee, which established violations of the Public Financial Management Regulations of 2009.
Boakai continue to emphasize that he will not tolerate corruption in his government, thus these two are not the first. After a LACC investigation involving extortion, abuse of authority, and inappropriate contracts connected to financial malfeasance, James A.S. Momo, Superintendent of Monrovia Consolidated School System, was fired in late 2025.
Boakai issued a warning, saying that those who try to use the government for personal gain should go or risk severe consequences. “The Liberian people deserve better,” he said.
