Boakai vows to recover stolen funds

AND OVERNIGHT ACCUMULATION OF WEALTH WHEN ELECTED PRESIDENT

Monrovia, Liberia – Amb. Joseph Boakai, a former vice president of Liberia and the leader of the country’s main opposition Unity Party, has threatened to recoup the money and assets that Weah administration officials have obtained illegally.

In a statement published on his official Facebook page, Amb. Boakai compared corruption to a disease that is consuming Liberia.

Former Vice President Joseph Boakai declared that one of his first priorities, if elected President, would be to combat corruption head-on, comparing it to a cancer that is devouring the nation and must be dealt with with the utmost cruelty.

The UP leader claimed that his administration will appoint and fully empower renowned anti-corruption personals, charging them with the crucial duty of reclaiming stolen money and illegally acquired property from Weah Government officials.

The former Vice President said on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, that his administration will relentlessly pursue the recovery of wrongfully acquired wealth and punish those responsible who had misused their positions of trust accountable.
