AFTER POLITICAL PARTIES AND CITIZENS CONDEMNED THE ACTION OF CIDICIANS
Monrovia, Liberia – The Coalition for Democratic Change’s Weah-Taylor 2023 Campaign Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to running an issue-based campaign that highlights President Weah’s track record of progress and good leadership while highlighting the value of preserving a peaceful democratic environment.
Lenn Eugene Nagbe, the campaign manager, lamented the behavior of some of its overzealous followers who marched through Montserrado on Saturday, August 5, 2023, marking the official beginning of the political campaign season for the October presidential and parliamentary elections.
‘‘THIS ACTION IS UNACCETABLE AND DOES NOT REPRESENT THE SET OF ACTIVITIES THAT HAVE BEEN ENVISIONED TO CHARACTERIZE THIS CRUCIAL DEMOCRATIC EXERCISE.”
He stated that the committee thinks the extraordinary accomplishments the Weah government has made over the years give enough building blocks for a resounding victory in the upcoming elections. Mr. Nagbe exhorts everyone pursuing the ultimate objective to continue in a peaceful manner.
The statement of the CDC comes in the wake of criticism from opposition political parties including, Unity Party among others.
