The bodyguard of Alexander Cummings was found with a firearm during the “We Tire Suffering Rally” on December 17, 2022, in Paynesville. The Coalition for Democratic Change National Youth League is requesting a prompt resolution to the ongoing investigation.
The CDC Youth League claims that a timely update of the Ministry of Justice’s investigation would reveal the reasons why the Fire-Arm was present among nonviolent civilians during a public rally. The two CDC Youth League members asked the Ministry of Justice to question Alexander Cummings, whose bodyguard was found with a gun.
Assistant Internal Affairs Minister Abubakar Bah and Assistant Agriculture Minister Alvin Wesseh maintained that taking a firearm amongst peaceful citizens has the propensity to create chaos and destabilize a peaceful environment.
The two Assistant Ministers speaking on a local radio station in Monrovia (OK FM, 99.5) on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, issued a warning against government personnel who they perceive to be cozying up to the opposition movement. “The CDC Youth League would not be hesitant to suggest harsh action against government personnel who share information with figures and undermine the government,” according to Abubakar Bah and Alvin Wesseh.
