Cestos Mongars boost Squad with Three Foreign Signings for 2025 NBL Season.

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) First Division runners-up for 2024-2025 season, Cestos Mongars, added to their lineup three overseas players for the 2025 National Basketball League (NBL) season. The team has added two Ivorian and one Nigerian players to increase their chances of winning the tournament this new season.

While details about the players’ previous clubs have not yet been disclosed, their arrival signals Mongars’ ambition to go better this season after narrowly missing out on the top spot last year. On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the three made their Cestos Mongars debuts at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Gymnasium against recently promoted Spartacus.

In a fiercely contested and tough match, the Mongars lost despite being including the three new players. Among the foreign recruits are: Nigerian athlete Musa Abubakar Bagudu is renowned for his physical presence and adaptability on the court.

Simeon Kini is an Ivorian guard who has already gained recognition for his quickness and ball-handling abilities. Ivory Coast native Sere Bakary is a forward who excels in rebounding and playing defense.

Even though the season is still early, both supporters and experts are eager to see how these new players will fit in with the rest of the Mongars’ roster and affect the team’s chances of winning the championship.
