Changsha Evening Newspaper Appoints 30 Liberian Media Professionals As International Correspondent

Changsha, China – Reports231 Media Network reporter and The News Newspaper Executive Mansion reporter, journalist Prince Saah, along with other Liberian Media Professionals have been appointed as an international correspondent for Changsha Daily, one of China’s leading news outlets.

The appointment comes as part of a media exchange and cooperation initiative aimed at strengthening cross-cultural communication and deepening media collaboration between Liberia and China.

Thirty Liberian media professionals are currently in Changsha City, China undergoing media training will be responsible for covering stories, with a focus on African affairs, cultural exchange, and global development issues, but most especially Liberia.

Speaking on his new role Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the Headquarters of the Changsha Evening Newspaper in Changsha City, China, Journalist Saah expressed excitement and a sense of duty.

He said, “This is a remarkable opportunity to tell Africa’s story to the world and to bring balanced, well-researched news coverage to an international audience.”

Also speaking, officials from Changsha Evening Newspaper welcomed Saah and his colleagues to the newsroom, praising their professional track records and expressing confidence in their ability to contribute to the paper’s global news coverage.

Meanwhile, as part of the China Communication Capacity Program for Liberian journalists and media professionals, they visited the headquarters of Hunan Daily, one of China’s most influential newspapers.

During the visit, Liberia Media professionals interacted with veteran Chinese journalists, exchanging experiences on newsroom operations, investigative reporting, and the role of media in national development.

The engagement provided an opportunity for them to deepen their understanding of modern journalistic practices and explore strategies to strengthen news coverage in Liberia.

The exchange formed part of a broader training program aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of Liberian reporters through exposure to China’s robust media landscape.

Also, the Liberians media professionals described the visit as “an eye-opening experience that will significantly shape my approach to storytelling and media ethics.”

The China Communication Capacity Program is an ongoing initiative designed to foster cross-cultural media collaboration, promote accurate reporting, and strengthen bilateral relations between Liberia and China.
