Sinoe County – Chea Foundation School’s victory in the inaugural U15 Grassroots School League, a historic program run by the Liberia Football Association through the Inter School Sports Association, has written history in Sinoe County.
What started out as a training ground for young football players swiftly transformed into a thrilling display of skill, focus, and enthusiasm. In addition to their technical prowess, Chea Foundation stood out among a challenging field of schools for their cohesion and poise throughout the competition.
From beginning to end, the grand finale against E.J. Green School was intense and dramatic, living up to expectations. E.J. Green was the first to score, demonstrating their early superiority and indicating that they intended to win the historic trophy. Nevertheless, the Chea Foundation reacted with tenacity and strategic maturity that was beyond their years.
Chea Foundation rallied back to tie the score with a masterfully executed play, exhibiting cooperation and composure under duress. The atmosphere grew more intense as momentum shifted in their favour, with supporters uniting behind both sides in a thrilling match.
Chea Foundation scored the game-winning goal as it was coming to an end, securing a hard-earned 2-1 victory. The final whistle signalled the young champs’ historic victory and sparked joyous celebrations. Beyond the trophy, this win shows how grassroots football is becoming more and more important in Liberia. It emphasises how crucial organised youth tournaments are to spotting and developing the next generation of stars.
