Tapeta, Nimba County – The Jackson F. Doe Hospital in Tappita, Nimba County, has received donations of living materials and medicinal supplies from the People’s Republic of China through its embassy in Liberia. On November 17, 2023, Ambassador Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, participated in the donation ceremony held at Tapeta, Nimba County’s JFD Hospital. Attending the occasion were representatives of JFD Hospital as well as the 16th batch of Chinese medical team members.
In order to advance China-Liberia cooperation and create a community of health for everyone, Ambassador Yin fully affirmed the accomplishments of JFD Hospital in recent years and stressed that the Chinese side would continue to support the hospital’s development as well as further develop cooperation with the Liberian side in the fields of medicine and healthcare.
Dr. Dollo of JFD Hospital expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for their kind donation to the hospital, stating that the facility will continue to serve as a link between China and Liberia, fostering mutual understanding and benefiting the populace.
JFD Hospital is one of China’s aid projects and was handed over to the Liberian government in 2010. Over the past 13 years of operation, the hospital has become the largest referral hospital in the sub-region and the designated hospital for the treatment of COVID-19, which has been highly lauded by the Liberian government and the public.
