    Chinese Embassy Host Pre-Departure Dinner for 57 Liberia Diplomat

    Monrovia, Liberia – In accordance with the bilateral partnership agreement between Liberia and China, the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Liberia held a dinner for the departure of 57 Liberians from the government and non-government sectors for a special diplomatic training in China.

    Addressing the audience, Xu Kun, charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Liberia said, after a thorough selection procedure, those chosen are the best candidates from all departments. They will get advanced management and work skills in China to better serve the Liberian people.

    He added that the training is a tangible illustration of the relationship between China and Liberia as well as a demonstration of China’s earnest support for the country’s social and economic advancement. For China’s relations with Africa, President Xi Jinping outlined four guiding principles in 2013: sincerity, actual results, amity and good faith, and seeking the greater good and shared interests.

    “We have been living by this idea over the past ten years, and China-Liberia ties have made remarkable strides under the collaborative leadership and dedication of both Chinese and Liberian leaders. We are prepared to engage in further cooperation in the future on the terms of equality, respect for one another, non-interference in internal affairs, and win-win cooperation.”

    Xu Kun maintain that China will continue to firmly support Liberia’s social and economic development through a variety of measures and is prepared to work with Liberia to jointly create a shared future.

    Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah expressed Liberia gratitude to the People Republic of China for the support on behalf of President George Mannah Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, and the Liberia populace. He noted that the two countries have a historic relationship that encourage and motivates partnership.

    The Foreign Minister of Liberia added that Liberia remains committed to the two countries partnership, adding that Liberia diplomacy is key in its development.

    Liberia Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, Minister of Health, Wilhemena Jallah, Liberia Solicitor General, Cllr. Nyenati Tuan, and Liberia National Police Inspector General, all remarked thanking the Chinese government and its people for the support.

    They encouraged the participates to the training to represent Liberia and return home and implement what they would have learn for the benefit of Liberia.

    The recipients thanked both countries for affording them the opportunities to get added knowledge in the field of operation and for the betterment of Liberia.

    The 57 leaving Liberia to China are from the security sector, Liberia National Police (Liberian Social Security and Governance Policing Training Course) 25 Trainees. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Liberian Young Diplomats Training Course) 25 Trainees. And the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital (China-Liberia Paired Hospital Cooperation Mechanism Project, Cardiology Medical Staff Training Course) 7 Trainees.
