Residents of Lower Clay Ashland in Rural Montserrado County say they are anticipating a boost in economic activities in the area amid the rehabilitation of a major farm-to-market road in that part of the country getting a new phase.
The famous Arthington road is currently undergoing rehabilitation through an initiative from Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph after being left out of developmental plans for more than 20 years.
Arthington is the hometown of jailed Liberian President Charles Taylor.
The Town Chief of one of the towns along the road told Journalists that the grading of the road will help ease the transportation burden on residents of the area experience, especially during the rainy season.
The road project comes with less than ten months to elections in which senator Joseph will be seeking reelection.
Speaking to journalists, the Montserrado county Senator said the road project is not a campaign initiative but rather a continuation of his development activities initiated since taking the senatorial office.
He vowed to continue his developmental agenda throughout the county for the benefit of ordinary citizens.
