    NaFAA ALARM

Monrovia, Liberia – The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) Management has alarmed that residents of Palm Bush Community in Duazon, close to Silver Beach, were spotted Thursday, September 21, 2023, slicing into a dead sea mammal that was likely a sperm whale for consumption.

NaFAA implores members of the public, in particular coastal residents, to cease such behaviour right away because eating a dead fish without understanding the reason for its demise could be very damaging to the species in question. They said, such are methods that illnesses move from one person to another and cause an epidemic.

According to a NaFAA release, to ensure that the carcass is removed off the beach and that no one else consumes the dead fish, NaFAA Management is collaborating with other pertinent organisations arrest the situation.
