Dr. Jallah called for more Brest Cancer Awareness

Liberia Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah has described breast cancer as one of the primary causes of the number of deaths in Liberia.

Speaking Thursday at the Ministry of Information press briefing on Thursday, October 28, 2021, Dr. Jallah said, Liberia has recorded more deaths as a result of breast cancer over the past ten years with women being the highest victims.

She added that more awareness and early treatment of breast cancer are essential in reducing the spread of the disease.

As Liberia joins other nations to commemorate the International breast cancer day, Minister Jallah added that it is important for women to take note of the disease and stay safe.

Liberia last week joined the rest of the world to celebrate breast cancer awareness day. October is celebrated as a National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where people from all over the world recognize the seriousness of this condition and show their support for patients affected by breast cancer.

The program ended with health walk on the principal streets of Monrovia, and exercise at the SKD Sports Complex including the participation of President George Weah and First Lady Clar Marie Weah.
