Monrovia, Liberia – The Kyne’s Hands Foundation formally established by Sister Mary Laurene Browne, a well-known Liberian educator and President Emeritus of Stella Maris Polytechnic University. Its mission is to support the health, rights, and general well-being of underprivileged youths nationwide, with a particular focus on underprivileged girls.

Sis Laurene Browne thanked the Executive Director and Founder of Kyne’s Hands Foundation for the intervention to support the disadvantaged society at the launch on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

She noted that because she is so committed to empowering young people by giving them the chance to take charge of their health and well-being, everyone must work to support her.

Based on a personal experience that compelled her to start this foundation—her mother’s death—the founder of this organization aspires to change the lives of common Liberians. “It’s crucial to remember that any government, no matter how weak, can provide for all of its citizens’ needs. This is how I think the Holy Spirit motivates individuals to make their dreams come true so that the country can care for its residents.”

The founder and executive director, Cynthia Towejue Kyne-Kengo, gave a summary of the organization and stated that her desire to help less fortunate Liberia stems from her mother’s bad experience living with others when she was five to ten years old.

Speaking about her mother’s mistreatment and maltreatment while living with others, Madam Kengo stated that it is her goal that no young Liberian, particularly a woman, should have to endure such treatment. She also mentioned that her institution has advanced significantly since its founding in 2021.

Today, we are formally launching this organization to support the education, health, and well-being of underprivileged young people. Over the past few years, we have developed a strategic collaboration. We have formed beneficial partnerships with other organizations, governmental bodies, community organizations, and stakeholders that enable us to maximize effect, exchange information, and leverage resources.”

Executive Director Cynthia Towejue Kyne-Kengo established the non-profit, non-governmental Kyne’s Hands Foundation with the goal of advancing the welfare of children in need and fighting for the rights of women and children in Liberia.

KHF was also founded in 2021 with the goal of improving the financial standing of Liberia’s caregivers of underprivileged children and offering health and educational assistance to children who were at risk. The Liberian government is among the donors and partners of the group.

At the grand opening event, which took place at the Foundation Officer in Bardnesville, Bend and Stop Community, high school students, human rights organizations, government ministries and agencies, educators, and underprivileged youngsters were all present.
