Findley Returns with Massive Vote to Capitol Building

Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County Following the National Elections Commission’s declaration of Gbehzohngar Milton Findley as the victor of the just concluded Democratic Senate fight, the Grand Bassa five Electoral Districts broke out in unbridled jubilation.

Adonie Z. Greaves, Findley’s political son and former assistant minister of foreign affairs, led the “One Bassa Agenda” campaign that resulted in a resounding political comeback for the county, ending Findley’s defeat period since December 2014. With 55,624 votes, or 52.24% of the total, the campaign was successful.

It almost seemed as though Findley had made his final political statement during the election, which many had dubbed “democratic revenge.” This strengthened his tactics as an independent candidate. Sen. Jonathan Kaipay was the victim of a retaliatory political blow that caused him to fall to fourth place out of the five contenders and be removed from the NEC’s provisional roll call. With 25,381 votes (23.84%), former superintendent and CDC candidate Janjay Baikpeh finishes in second. Independent candidate Magdalene G. Harris comes in third with 12,396 votes (11.64%).

It is being analytically predicted that Milton Findley will serve as the Legislative Caucus Chair since the Representatives elect from Districts #1, Isaac Bannie, #3, Matthew Fairplay Joe, and #4, Alfred Flomo, as well as the anticipated winners of Electoral Districts #2, Clarence T. Banks, and #5, Thomas Alexander Goshua, are all political confidants of Findley.

Furthermore, because of her long-standing friendship with Findley and her intention to assume the Senate’s leadership role following the presidential election, Grand Bassa female senator Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence may strongly support this decision.

Even though it is yet unclear whether Findley’s return to the Capitol Building will inspire him to run for the Pro-tempt position given that he obtained a sizeable mandate through the ballot box, the convergence of the 55th Legislature will define the reality in the political theater.

The former foreign minister’s over 20,000 numerical strength (votes) against Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence in the 2020 senatorial election is also seen to have been a signpost and a driving force behind his enthusiastic involvement in the 2023 elections.

Since the NEC’s announcement on Tuesday, neither of the other four senatorial candidates has released a congratulations statement to Findley.
