Five Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested

Monrovia, Liberia – Five alleged armed robbers have been taken into custody by the Liberia National Police’s (LNP) Anti-Robbery Unit. The five suspects, Emmanuel Johnson alias Wallace, Alfred Lablah alias Puyol, Junior Bundor alias Prince, Malachi Eze alias Promise, and Leemu Tabah, are accused of armed robbery of a Chinese national named Joseph Xu, who lives in Congo town, according to an LNP announcement.

According to the LNP early investigation, the suspects entered into victim Joseph Xu’s home on Friday, September 13, 2024, at around 2:00 AM, held him and his wife at gunpoint, and fled with an undisclosed sum of money and other belongings.

The investigation revealed that the same suspects were attempting to enter Joseph Xu’s property on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at around 12:45 AM. During their arrest by the Anti-robbery Unit, they were found in two different taxis, several items, including pin-bars, a steel cutter, and multiple keys.

The two vehicles, TX-03201 and a Nissan sedan without a plate are currently impounded at the headquarters of the LNP while an investigation into the matter continues.
