Monrovia, Liberia – Former Secretary General of the Federation of African Law Students, Students Unification Party and graduating Senior of the Louis Arthur Grime School of Law, Ephraim T. Nyumah has warned and alert the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY), of a potential plot by intruders to manipulate the election, especially the ruling Unity Party and Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah who are supporting separate candidates in the election.
Sharing his opinion on the FLY election, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Nyumah said if the FLY Presidential candidates are not careful with the financial support they are receiving and political backing, the Institution may be plunged into destabilization and weaken advocacy following the conclusion of the election.
He disclosed that recently, he raised concerns about the growing manipulation of the FLY electoral process by Deputy Speaker, Fallah, who has publicly supported Presidential candidate Duku Jallah, but Some dismissed it as mere speculation, insisting that all was well.
The Student Unification Party (SUP), he continued, has now verified what many had feared that Deputy Speaker Fallah is, in fact, doing everything in his power to install his favorite candidate as the next FLY President. The former student leader also made it clear that while he has no ill will toward the brothers competing in the next FLY competition, he is worried about the shadows that support it rather than their drive.
“The very hands that looted our tomorrow and built their comfort upon our poverty. We cannot keep glorifying those who steal our future just because we want to be on the same table with them. No, this is not what we have signed up for as advocates for the betterment of our people,” Nyumah warned.
Meanwhile, he at the same time, alleged that the ruling party stands divided along internal lines of interest and loyalty within the FLY election. What we are witnessing is not merely an election, but a power struggle within the ruling establishment itself. The Secretary-General, National Chairman, and segments of the Vice President’s bloc have lined up behind Fallah’s candidate, while another camp led by former Chairman Admin Modah’, former SG Mo Ali, Cornelia, and others, stand in defiance. Even the Youth Chairman, rumored to be eyeing a 2029 election.
