Foreign Minister Nyanti Promotes Economic Diplomacy as Cornerstone for World Peace and Collaboration

As Liberia participates part in World Economic Forum

Monrovia, Liberia – Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti is pushing for stronger, more strategic ties between governments, multilateral organizations, and the private sector, emphasizing that Liberia’s economic future is intimately related to its diplomatic and peace-building role on the international scene.

Minister Nyanti said that Liberia is at a turning moment in its history, one marked by proactive involvement and shared responsibility rather than dependency, during a private meeting at the Financial Times House on the outskirts of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

She delivered President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s greetings, pointing out that the attendance of international partners at the roundtable demonstrates a shared belief in principled, forward-looking relationships as well as increased confidence in Liberia’s future.

According to Minister Nyanti, Liberia is reinventing its role in the world today as an active participant in international economic diplomacy, peacebuilding, and multilateral collaboration rather than as a recipient of goodwill.

The Foreign Minister clarified that the roundtable’s purposefully small and private size was meant to go beyond rhetoric and concentrate on alignment—between public and private capital, national priorities and global responsibilities, economic growth, and international peace and security.

She pointed out that acknowledging the evolution of economic diplomacy is at the core of Liberia’s message. According to Minister Nyanti, it now entails mobilizing investment that boosts national and regional stability, builds institutions, supports climate resilience, and generates jobs for Liberia.
