Monrovia, Liberia – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is expected to join her counterparts from around the world at the upcoming Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (WFMM), co-hosted by the governments of Jamaica and Canada. The high-level meeting will take place on September 19-20, 2024, in Toronto, Canada.
This important conference of women foreign ministers seeks to solve the most urgent worldwide issues and increase women’s impact on world diplomacy. Under the theme : “Achieving Gender Equality and Strengthening Women through Diplomacy.” The conference will give female leaders in foreign policy a stage for group communication and cooperation.
Key topics including Global Peace and Security, Economic Development, Climate Change, and inclusive Diplomacy will be covered over the two days conference. Emphasizing Liberia’s commitment to furthering peace, Security, and Women’s Empowerment both at home and internationally, Minister Nyanti is anticipated to offer the country’s viewpoint on these crucial issues.
The official agenda was conveyed in a September 5, 2024, communication from the Embassy of Canada to Liberia from Côte d’Ivoire. Liberia’s involvement in the WFMM emphasizes both its increasing importance in world diplomacy and its commitment to support of gender parity in leadership positions.
