Monrovia, Liberia – Despite opposition from Senators Prince Johnson, Thomas Nimely, and others, Joshua Milton Blahyi, sometimes known as General Butt Naked, is an evangelist and former warlord supports the creation of a War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia.

In an effort to provide justice to the victims of the Liberian civil wars, more than forty members of the House of Representatives unanimously signed a resolution on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, advocating for the creation of the WECC and sending it to the Liberian Senate for approval.

The resolution was signed on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and is co-sponsored by Representative Yekeh Kolubah, three additional legislators, and Representative Sumo Mulbah of the Montserrado County Electoral District #3.

At his Monrovia home on Thursday, March 7, 2024, Blahyi spoke with reporters about the importance of confronting the past in order to promote the advancement of the country.

One of the main players in Liberia’s civil war, General Butt Naked, saw the moral and spiritual necessity of setting up a court to punish offenders.

He emphasized the negative consequences of impunity on Liberia’s development, saying that unresolved complaints impede stability and economic growth.
