Students of the Gaye Town Elementary and Junior high School parade the principal streets of District #10 Montserrado County for the 1st time after 22 years.
The last time student of the institution celebrated their anniversary with a parade was in 1999/2000; since then, students of the institution has not observed the anniversary for over two decades.
This year’s parade was the second since the institution was established; this year’s parade according to the committee chairman Mr. Benjamin Kpah is the best in recent time. Students and staff of the Institution observed the institution’s 52nd anniversary on Friday, June 10, 2022, with a grand parade that started at the institution campus.
The Gaye Town Elementary and Junior high school were founded on June 16, 1970, and it is the oldest public Institution in District #10 Montserrado County; that is providing quality education for residents in the District and its environs. The institution runs both morning and afternoon classes with more than 700 students enrolled at the institution.

Serving as the keynote speaker for the 52nd gala-anniversary, the editor in Chief at the News, Newspapers; Prince Parker appreciated the administration for affording him the honor and lamented that the Administration of the institution always acknowledged and appreciate his Institution for their kind gesture toward the growth and development of the school.
The editor in chief however pledged his Institution’s support to the school. He mentioned that Principal Barclay’s quest for quality education is something that cannot be overly emphasized. Mr. Parker noted that though there are challenges in pursuing education in the country he called on students of the institution to remain focused and not to be deterred in their education sojourned
For her part, the Principal of the Gaye Town Elementary and Junior high school madam, Josephine Barclay extolled this year’s 52nd gala day Committee members and students of the Institution for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the program was a success. She lamented that students at the Institution will continue to observe and celebrate their gala anniversary with a grand parade as long as she is principal at the institution.

She at the same time called on parents to fully support their kids during extract curriculum activities at the institution. The principal narrated that with the involvement of parents, the kids will acquire better education. She expressed that it is prudent for parents to support their kids in whatever ways they can including extract curriculum activities as it is a part of the learning process.
