Monrovia, Liberia –  In an effort to enhance Liberian students with computer technology, a Liberian based American, George Charles Kiadii has launched the Global Village Institute of Computer Technology and Professional Programs at the William V.S Tubman High School in Monrovia. Building skilled laborers who can support Liberia’s economic expansion is the program’s main goal, especially in sectors of the economy that are vital to the country’s progress.

During the launch on Friday, October 4, 2024, the Executive Officer of Global Villagers Sustainable Initiative, Kiadii, stated that the training program is tailored to participants’ needs and will provide them with skills that will improve their personal lives as well as make a significant contribution to the advancement of society. He stated that the initiative was started with other goals in mind, but these were the main ones.

Executive Officer Kiadii discussed elementary education and mentioned Employment Generation, stating that one of the key goals is to provide people with market-ready skills so they may find employment in a variety of industries, including technology, healthcare, and construction.

Speaking about economic development, he explained that it offers specialized training with the goal of creating a workforce with the necessary skills to support the nation’s economic expansion, especially in sectors that are essential to the advancement of the nation.

Nonetheless, he listed the following as the main goals of the opening of the Global Village Institute of Computer Technology and Professional Programs: Empowerment and Poverty Reduction, Social Inclusion, Self-Reliance, Workforce Development and Industrialization, Sustainable Development.

According to the CEO of Global Village Institute, innovation and flexibility are more important than ever in a world that is changing quickly, especially in the aftermath of global issues.

“We believe that every individual has the potential to excel, to transform their lives, and to lead their communities.”

According to Kiadii, the curriculum also offers the resources, guidance, and real-world experience needed to realize potential.

He assured the Willam V.S. Tubman High School students that the skills they would learn in the program will be the cornerstone of their success stories and will serve them and the nation for the rest of their lives.

According to Hon. James F. Momoh, the superintendent of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS), technology is an essential component of all curricula. According to Hon. Momoh, the MCSS program’s incorporation of technology will improve the school’s mission.
