AFTER COOKING FOR 1OO HOURS
Lekki, Nigeria – The 100-hour record has now been attained by Nigerian cook Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, who has surpassed the 96-hour goal. The young chef is was praised and celebrated for reaching the milestone by fans at the cook-a-thon competition, which is took place in the Amore Gardens, Lekki, Nigeria.

By exceeding the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual at 16 HRS GMT on Sunday, May 15, 2023, Hilda achieved her original 96-hour target. On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the chef from Lagos began the competition by turning on her stove at 16 HRS GMT, breaking the previous world record set on Monday, May 15, 2023, morning.
Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, is credited with accomplishing the competition in 2019 with a record-breaking 87 hours and 45 minutes of uninterrupted cooking.
