HoR Summons CSA DGs Past and Present Regarding Illegal Employment of Workers on GoL Payroll from 2019 to 2023

Monrovia, Liberia – The unlawful placement of workers on government payroll between 2019 and 2023 has prompted the House of Representatives to summon the director generals of the Civil Servants Agency, both past and present.

The message from Frank Saah Foko, the representative for Montserrado County District 9, served as the basis for the Plenary decision on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Based on a circular circumstance from the CSA that disclosed that over 40,000 civil servants were improperly placed on the government payroll between 2019 and 2023, Representative Foko made his communication.

According to him, there are allegations that the new system that was implemented will cause hundreds of government employees from the Ministry of State, the Executive Protective Service, and other line Ministers, Agencies, and Commissions to lose their jobs.

One pressing issue that needs to be addressed, according to the District #9 Representative, is the decrease in the budgetary allowance for people from other government agencies.According to Rep. Foko, the CSA should account for the sad but serious situation that will lead many employ.
